The European RWD Summit served as a focal point for leading experts in the realm of Real-World Data, bringing together policymakers, ecosystem influencers, data engineers, data scientists, and researchers under one roof. The event was dedicated to the dissemination of best practices in harnessing the potential of RWD, and fostering insightful discussions on its applications and inherent limitations within the research domain.
With a collective aim to drive innovation and efficacy in healthcare, attendees engaged in robust exchanges, exploring diverse perspectives on leveraging Real-World Data to advance research methodologies and inform evidence-based decision-making.
Together with Prof. Dr. Mieke Van Hemelrijck, a world renowned cancer and urology epidemiologist and researcher from King’s College London the introduced the role of RWD in cancer research. Prof. van Hemelrijck introduced to the audience the combination of RCTs and RWD in a way of designing pragmatic clinical trials and how one compliments the other rather than antagonizing it. At the same time, she introduced the audience with an innovative research framework and concepts from the UK in regard to use of RWD in clinical research.
Konstantinos Mouratis, demonstrated practical ways to work with RWD, starting from handling a new dataset to conducting a sophisticated analysis of Prostate Cancer patient data. He emphasized Therapyte's ability to solve complex healthcare issues and extract clinically significant insights, through a processs that involved population analysis, patient matching and benchmarking, and predictive modeling, showcasing the potential of working with both structured and unstructured data from the US. The audience showed great interest in Therapyte's presentation, showing a clear focus on the future use of RWD not only as a source of epidemiological analysis, but as a framework for research & development, policy and decision making.
The European RWD Summit from Honic was definitely a hit, sending a clear message that RWD will be at the core of current and future clinical research. Therapyte and Konstantinos Mouratis, on the other hand, was honored to play an integral part as speaker in this event, showing that by leveraging Real-World Data and developing advanced analytics models, is the way to go in shaping the future of healthcare through the creation of innovative therapeutics.
